    Many persons approach me with the request for self-hypnosis for effecting change in one or the other problems. In such cases, I like to explore if he/she is interested in self-hypnosis or self-hypnosis based healing protocol. Putting a person into hypnotic trance and brining back to the waking awareness without any component of healing is akin to getting into sleep and awakening. It does not serve any healing purpose. Most of the persons do not seek simple self-hypnosis rather they mean it for healing or improvement purposes and in this case it is not self-hypnosis instead it is self-hypnosis plus healing. I also recommend that a therapist guided hypnotherapy is superior to self attempts. For one or the other reasons, self-hypnosis based healing would continue to be solicited.
    Self-Hypnosis Protocol: A self-hypnosis protocol consists of at least a relaxation based script for hypnotic induction and a suggestion script for healing the target issues. It is difficult for a person to execute both the components without any assistance from a therapist or a device. Induction of self-hypnosis causes dullness and slowed mental processes which makes it difficult to retrieve and deliver healing suggestion script to oneself during hypnotic trance. To make everything easy and smooth, I recommend using an audio device for self-hypnosis and delivery of healing suggestions. You may develop your own audio program through audio editors like Audacity or Adobe Audition. This can easily be done on your desktop or laptop. You may seek an assistance of a person who is acquainted with audio recording and editing.

    The components of the protocol (i) relaxation based hypnotic induction (b) two deepeners (c) healing scripts (d) trance termination instructions; can be recorded in separate audio files and merged later on as per the requirements. The induction, deepeners and termination instructions audio files would be common to all audio programs if one wants to have multiple audio programs. Separate audio files would have to be recorded for each specific problems/targets. All these files can then be combined through a copy & paste function in audio editor in following sequence. Induction Audio File à Deepener Audio Fileà Suggestion/Regression Script Audio Fileà Trance Termination Audio File. Each individual combined file can be given a descriptive name relevant to the healing suggestion script such as “Improve Your Concentration”. You may also like to share your programs with your friends for their benefits. The required healing suggestion scripts can be downloaded from the web. For downloading a script just enter the problem name suffixed with free hypnosis script in Google. For example, “migraine free hypnosis script”.

    My Protocol:

    I have recorded a few audio programs and edited them in Audio Editors. I followed following protocol for recording a self-hypnosis based healing audio program.

    File-1 Orienting Suggestions: Sit or lie down comfortably… adjust your posture… release all the tensions in your body muscles… keep your limbs loose and light… be passive and allow the relaxation to build up passively… do not try hard to attain relaxation in your body and mind… just let it happen to the extent effortlessly attained by the body and mind….continue to sink deeper and deeper… (Time allowed=60 seconds approx)

    File-2: Soft Music: A soft and relaxing instrumental music for about 30 seconds.

    File-3: Relaxation Based Trance Induction: allow your eyes to remain closed…be calm, quiet and comfortable… review your left leg in your mind’s eyes and allow it to be loose and light… now review your right leg in your mind’s eyes and allow it to be loose and light…now mentally review your left arm and allow it to be loose and light… mentally review your right arm and let it be loose and light…focus your mind on your abdomen, inside and outside, let it be loose and light… review your chest and allow it to move rhythmically… your mind is now reviewing the back and allowing it to be loose and light… both the shoulders, right… left… they are loose and light… focus on your neck, front side and back side, let it be loose and light… mentally view inside your mouth and let everything be loose and light… your facial muscles are getting loose and light… mentally view your eyes and feel the relaxation…your forehead…mentally review your head and feel the wave of relaxation spreading from top to bottom of your body….

    File-4 Deepeners: your body and mind are relaxed, loose and light… now allow your body to sink further and further… with passage of time… go deeper and deeper … still more deep…(pause 15 seconds)…now visualize a place which you like most could be a beautiful park or a spiritually charged place… feel as if you are there and viewing the surroundings… as you are getting involved into the pleasant and relaxing visualizations you are drifting deeper and deeper into relaxation…(pause 15 seconds)… now you are deeply relaxed and would continue to go even deeper with passage of time…

    File-6 Termination: As you are listening to this audio program, your mind is becoming more and more receptive to the positive and healthy suggestions… your mind would keep on generating positive and helpful alternatives to you… you are becoming stronger every day…now allow your mind and body to be back to normal waking state… (pause 15 seconds)… allow your body and mind to get ready and be out of this wonderful trance experience… (pause 10 seconds)… there is no hurry… take your time… when you are comfortable and relaxed then only you should be back to waking state… when you are back to the waking state you would find yourself comfortable and relaxed as if awakening from a deep refreshing sleep… just enjoy it…and when you open your eyes…mentally calculate two divided by .09… take some time before moving… adjust your body and have a healthy drink may be just water and increase your liquid intake for a few days, which shall clean your system… keep smiling… we shall meet again in next session… bye-bye…

    Self-Regression Protocol:

    I often receive requests for the methods of self-regression. I tell the seekers of self-regression that a therapist assisted regression is superior to the self-regression because a therapist can facilitate the journey into traumatic experiences of the past and can heal the emotional injuries through various methods. I recommend self-regression practice to the subjects in analytical mode so that their mind becomes receptive and open to the therapist assisted regression. I am presenting various approaches to self-regression.

    Audio Assisted Past Life Regression: For self-regression, my first preference is the audio assisted regression in which a subject either procures a readymade audio program or develops one’s own audio for self-regression. Dr. Brian Weiss has developed such an audio which comes bundled with his books ‘Mirror of Time’ and ‘Meditation’. I recommend that one should lie down comfortably, use earphone and listen to the audio at one’s residence preferably in evening. A silent mode should be activated on the mobile because if there is a call there may be a startle reaction which could spoil entire session. One should remain patient for getting results of any self-regression program including audio assisted ones. The therapist assisted regression may get activated within a few minutes whereas the self-regression may take considerably longer time may be weeks. Instances of activation of past life in response to audio programs within first listening have also been reported. You need to remain open minded for the individual differences in response to the self-regression audios. Following past life regression script may be recorded in any audio editor or directly on your multimedia mobile.

    Guidelines for Audio Programs:

    1. I recommend that an audio program should be listened almost daily at least for a period of one month except regression based audios which could be listened to once a week or with the consultation of a therapist. The repetition of the same suggestions over a period of one month impresses the sub-conscious mind and prepares it for integration and execution of desired results.
    2. The self-hypnosis based audios should not be listened to when driving; else there may be a risk.
    3. If one awakens with a feeling that one was asleep during the play of audio program, it should be taken as a positive aspect because subconscious mind listens to it even when you were asleep. May be it was not a sleep, it could be a hypnotic trance interpreted as sleep. If you find yourself awakened in response to termination suggestions towards end, most likely it was a trance not a sleep.
    4. The persons who have difficulty in therapist assisted hypnosis and regression, I recommend them to listen to audio programs for a couple of weeks and try again with the therapist. It may prepare their subconscious mind for the trance work.
    5. The audios should not be listened to when one is in hurry. At least 50-60 minutes time should be kept aside for listening to the audios.
    6. Listen to these audios in distraction free environment and switch off your mobiles and remove other potential sources of distraction.
    7. I recommend use of earphones for listening to the audio programs. These programs can be played on mobile, iPod, desktop, laptop, MP3 player or any other device. Self-hypnosis based applications are available on Android market too.
    8. Do not listen to these audios immediately after having meals. Allow some time may be an hour or so after meals.
    9. If a person feels headache, irritability, sleep difficulties or any side effects after listening to the self-hypnosis based audios, then further listening should be discontinued and a therapist should be consulted for attaining desired results.
    10. If a person wants to address multiple issues, then multiple audio programs can be developed and listened to them in a sequence one by one. That is, a program should be completed for one month on priority and then in next month another program can be taken up. Alternatively, a suggestion script can be prepared addressing multiple issues. You would need to take help of an expert for doing so.
    • lie down comfortably and adjust your posture, 30 seconds pause
    • close your eyes, feel and visualize that you are relaxing at any of your favorite spiritually charged place and notice what you are experiencing, 30 seconds pause
    • feel and visualize that a divine being is descending from a spiritual plane and coming towards you, pause 15 seconds
    • the divine being is cleaning your body, mind and aura, pause for 15 seconds
    • the divine being is creating a strong spiritual protective shield around you and you would remain secure and comfortable inside this protective covering throughout your journey to the back, pause 15 seconds
    • allow your mind to get prepared for a backward journey in time, the divine being would remain with you throughout your journey, you would remain in total control of yourself; you may skip forward or backward in time through a kind of mental remote, pause 15 secondsnow any one experience of your early childhood would pop up your mind spontaneously get absorbed into it and divine being would continue to heal and nourish you for this and all other experiences, pause 30 seconds
    • now allow it to fade away, pause 5 seconds
    • now the divine being is taking you to any distant time prior to your birth or any of your former lives, allow your mind to have a pure experience, do not reject, judge or discard it as imagination, allow the luxury of pure experience, get absorbed into the experience, 30 seconds pause
    • it would keep on flowing into your mind, you may skip forward or backward in time through mental remote, continue to have a pure experience, the divine being would continue to guide your, protect you and heal as and when required, pause 10 minutes
    • you would continue to have full or partial experience of that life, you would continue to have glimpses until the point of death in that life time, divine being is there to guide, protect and heal you, pause 10 minutes
    • continue to have a wonderful and nice experience with divine being, when complete get ready for returning back to 100% normal waking awareness, take your time there is no hurry, be gentle and soft to yourself, pause 5 minutes
    • if not yet returned to normal waking state, you can do so now at your own will, when you come back to waking state, you would find yourself calm, quite and comfortable, you may like to write  about your experiences in a diary or a piece of paper for your reference and record

    Meditation Based Past Life Access: Many queries to me relate to the methods of past life regression using meditation. Any of the following techniques can be tried to access past life regression in meditation. Sit in a meditative posture and do your favorite meditation for a few minutes and then apply any of the following procedures.

    • Think of any ancient time and get
      absorbed into it, do not keep a watch if you are accessing any of your past
      life instead get absorbed into the thoughts of ancient time and flow with
      them and continue for about 15-20 minutes
    • Retrieve any of your experience which could possibly be linked to previous life and get absorbed into that experience with the queries that if my this experience relates to any previous life then where was I, what I was doing, what was happening to me, what I was experiencing and so on. Sink into these thoughts and queries and continue for about 15-20 minutes
    • Have a gentle focus on any issue or feature of your current life which could possibly be linked to a previous life for example, chronic headache. Allow your consciousness  to wonder anywhere; as and when you become aware of yourself, again gently focus on the headache, do not try hard, let it flow with a “Sakshi Bhav’ (witnessing) and continue for about 15-20 minutes.
    • Identify any of your core thought pattern like “I am a failure”; “I cannot face it” and gently keep on repeating this core pattern during meditation.
