Soul mates share more than one life with each other. This concept is the basis of “Only Love is Real” by Dr. Brian Weiss. Both Elizabeth and Pedro independently relived a previous life of a father and daughter in an ancient time. Our intimate relations, family members, friends, enemies have been with us in former lives too; may be in different roles; a sister in the current life might have been a mother in previous life. A soul mate can be easily identified in past life regression. During regression, when a person relives an experience involving others such as family members, friends or enemies in that life, I would simply ask the subject “look into the eyes of this person and tell me who he/she is in the current life” and if it is there, the subject takes seconds to name the person in current life. At times, a subject spontaneously without any prompting identifies the soul mates.

Dr. VP on 12^th June 2005 after accessing one of his previous lives relived… I am a Pundit of middle age… there are five children in a room… the year is 1500 AD… place is Taxshila… there is a king… king is going somewhere… I am asked to take care of the children… the place got set on fire and the children died… (begins to weep)

I instructed him to look into the eyes of the children and tell me who are they in the current life. He could identify one of them as a child in the current family. Then I asked him to identify the king in the current life. He quickly named one of his rivals in the current life.

He continued… the king ordered to set my house on fire and my children and I am not sure if my wife (identified as his girl friend in the current life) is also being burnt inside the house…I have been taken to the kings palace. A meeting is being held at King’s court… I am not allowed to join it on my usual rank. The king started to laugh and said “aur kya dharm virudh hai”, my right arm is being twisted and shoulder fractured. I am returning to my home but stopped for some time somewhere in ruins outside the city.

I am in Taxshila  I am meeting other pundits in Taxshila … they are advising me to forget these events… I went to Chief Pundit- Guruji, but could not see him… Guruji is sitting… he is neither speaking nor moving… (Guruji could not be traced in the current life)… you are standing near Guruji (RK, I would refer myself by these initials)… there is a resemblance of forehead, lips and the ways of moving hands… you are also advising me to forgive…I asked how to forgive… you are advising me to  read more, and spend time here… I am not able to forget the burning of my children, I am not able to forgive the deceit of my wife. My children were deliberately killed by the king. I cursed the King…I am spending my time in library I want to write but my shoulder does not allow me to write. There is immense pain in my shoulder.

Past life connections of one’s soul mate can be explored in a faster way through the process of ‘reverse identification’. The usual way is to identify a soul mate by exploring the soul connections from past life to present life, but in reverse identification, soul connections are explored from present life to past life. I usually do this for a person who reports interpersonal problems with a person in current life. I work on the premise that this interpersonal problem could stem from the issues of previous lives and karmic patterns. For exploring present to past connections of a lady having troubled relationship with her husband, I would proceed in following manner. After inducing hypnotic trance, I would suggest “create a mental picture of your husband and go to the time in the past when both of you were together”. This key has yielded success to me in many cases.

On 17^th June 2003 after trance deepening, I instructed Dr VS to create a mental picture of her husband and go to the time in the past when both of you were together. Within a few moments she began to speak… I am a girl of 4-5 years… I am with my parents… my mother (the same being is the mother in current life, the face is quite similar)…(I instructed her to skip forward to significant event in that life)… I am now 16-17 years old… I am getting married with a person of 30-40 years… the year is 1907 and place appears to be somewhere in Assam… my husband gets drowned in a sea… I am now in a white sari… I am bald headed…there are many people around… worshiping Maa Kali… they are killing me by spears… I am dying…

She spontaneously drifted back to an ancient life. The year is 889 AD in Nalanda… A Guruji is sitting on lion’s skin… he has long hairs… he is wearing a white cloth… he is teaching… (Identified as RK). His age is about 40-50 years. I am 9-10 years old… many children are sitting… she identified some of the children as friends in current life… Guruji is also teaching about war, swords and spear. All children have become adept in these skills. We are a big group… there is a fort… our group has broken the main gate of the forte… a fierce battle is going on… our group captured the captain of the other group (identified as husband in current life)… we are taking him to Guruji… he is tied with a rope… all children are standing before Guruji… he is very happy and asking us to keep him in jail…

The era or the place of former life has nothing to do with the identification of soul mates. A companion of any time can be identified through this procedure.

A 43 years old male, engineer by profession went into trance easily and saw himself as a Roman Warrior at the age of 34 years, in the year 24 BC. He reported his name as Luscious and the year as XXIV. He identified his father as current life uncle, his mother as current life aunt and his sister as niece (sister’s daughter) in current life. I am labeling a past life exploration through a soul mate as ‘proxy regression’. This is akin to the procedure of ‘reverse identification’. This form of regression is quite useful for the persons who have difficulties in getting into regression experience for one or the other reasons. I have used this form of explorations for myself.

9^th July 2002 at 7.45 pm, I instructed SD to go back to an earlier time and locate me (RK)… I am in the ashram… five intimate disciples of Guruji are there… I am the youngest one and four others are there… each one is adept in one or the other field – Yoga, Bhakti, Knowledge of Veda and Warfare… they teach me their skills… Guruji has instructed them to teach me…the yoga teacher is attached with me the most… his name is Shraddhananda (identified as RK).. he is about 25 years old… he teaches me innovative methods of yoga… but he does not know astral travel… Guruji has told that he would teach this at the end… yoga teacher is demonstrating body levitation to me… I am requesting him to teach this to me also… he is reassuring that he would teach everything after taking permission from Guruji… he is telling me to sleep now…

Today is Thursday… (he briefly relived the snake bite experience)… Guruji and the yoga teacher came over there… Guruji is telling that he can revive me but not doing so… yoga teacher is insisting on revival… Guruji is telling him to go to ashram and get into the ashram activities… but yoga teacher is refusing to do so and becoming rebellious that he would not learn anything new… he no longer has any motivation.. Guruji is counseling him that you are getting emotionally attached with him… this is not right… it would bind you with him for lives… yoga teacher is telling that he wanted to learn something… I can bind myself with him for lives… he is seeking blessings of Guruji…

On 18^th July 2002 at 7.58 pm SD continued to add… Shraddhanandji left the ashram… (locate him)… he is sitting below a tree in Yogmudra… he is 35-40 years old now.. it is an evening time… there is a bright flame emanating from his belly… it is warm around him… it seems he learnt something new… I do not know what it is… the flame is expanding… it seems that only his body is left there… he has died… a white light emerged from his body…(follow this light)…. yes, I am following… he is preventing me from following and saying that he would meet me again at this age only.. I have returned to the tree… there is nothing… only soil is left…

This sort of proxy regression may have minimal healing potentials. It needs be augmented with other methods and specialized healing procedures. But past life regression of soul mates can be used to substantiate rebirth hypothesis. That is, if two or more soul mates are independently regressed to their previous life and if all of them get back to the same time period, then they should come up with similar details. In fact, there are some evidence to suggest that soul mates while accessing the same time period, came up with similar details as happened with Elizabeth and Pedro.
